As a biocentrist, I do not place humanity at the centre of existence (as anthropocentrists do). Animals, all creatures and plants are my friends, brothers and sisters. I learn from them on so many levels. And indeed they have saved my life, which is no exaggeration.
This gallery is a gamble and frolic through some of the media and techniques that I have used to depict my animal friends – watercolours, fingerpainting, pen and ink, graphite (pencil), acrylics, textiles and photography.
It has been an especial privilege to depict the animal companions of some friends and family; to capture the essence of a beloved Fur Friend for someone else is quite a responsibility, so it is all the more rewarding when you “do it right”!
